Lake Highlands was treated to the first community Oktoberfest Oct. 1 sponsored by the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands.

The recognition signifies that Doctors Hospital has reached an aggressive goal of treating heart failure patients with 85 percent compliance for at least 24 months to core standard levels of care as outlined by the AHA-American College of Cardiology secondary prevention guidelines for heart failure patients. Krajewski’s career in health care spans several decades. She has worked numerous leadership roles and most recently served in a dual role as chief nursing officer for Metropolitan Methodist Hospital and division chief nurse executive in San Antonio. There will be no adult libations, either sold by or brought into, Garden Café.

According to a piece in today’s newsprint version of Dallas Morning News, Dale Wootton and his Junius Heights establishment lost an appeal to Dallas City Council to override the City Plan Commission’s denial of a special use permit to allow beer and wine sales.

The permit, said city officials, couldn’t stop with allowing beer and wine sales. It would also include liquor. Opposition among neighborhood residents cited potential liquor sales by future owners should Garden Café ever shut down or move. Continue Reading »
