The Lakehill Warriors marched into Trenton Friday night and overwhelmed the short-handed Tigers squad, 42-7.

Offensively the Lakehill running game was in fine form, amassing more than 300 total yards, led by the tandem of Cris McCarty and Milan Rabah.

The duo accounted for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns. Fullback Keith Mitchell added another 70 yards and a touchdown.

After giving up an early Trenton touchdown, the Warriors defense had a banner night — seven forced turnovers, highlighted by an interception return for a touchdown by Kurt Norman.

Jacob Westerbeck, Brandon Shaw, and Drew Norman also record interceptions.

For the second week in a row, the Warriors’ special teams accounted for a touchdown, an electrifying 85-yard kickoff return by McCarty.

The Warriors reach the mid-point of the season with a 3-2 record, and have a bye week to prepare for the start of district play.

The next game will be Oct. 6 against Canyon Creek at the Warrior Athletic Complex. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Thanks to Gigi Ekstrom, Lakehill’s director of marketing and community relations, for the words and to Irwin Thompson, who took the photographs.
