Peeking in on Long’s start

By Bruce Felps

The first day of a school year typically brings some degree of anxiety, mostly among parents it seems.

Matthew Haag, a reporter with the Dallas Morning News, scoped out the opening bell, and the hour or so leading up to it, at J.L. Long Middle School this morning and filed a brief for the paper’s website.

The highlight: Student Nathaniel Cantu tried to assure his mom that all was well as he waited for the doors to open.

His mom, Eunice Cantu, replied, “Mom is not ready to say goodbye yet.”

Parents, they’re so cute at this age.
