Arboretum Offers Hot Deals

By Bruce Felps

The Dallas Arboretum dropped its admission fees to $1 for August, and this weekend the botanical garden lowers a few more prices.

The Summer Mega Sale runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., each day Aug. 12-14, in Rosine Hall. That $1 admission price gets patrons into the sale as well.

Merchandise includes party supplies, books, planters, dishes, yard art, decorative accessories, and seasonal goods of multiple varieties.

“Much of what we’ll have on sale are holiday decorative accessories,” gift shop Manager Karen Alexander said in a press release. “Bunny rabbits for your Easter table, ceramic turkeys for Thanksgiving, or Christmas ornaments — we have them all. And, all sale items are marked down 50 percent or more. We’ve even marked down some of our collectible, branded merchandise. Plus, Arboretum members save an additional 10 percent.”

Other items include used furniture, cabinets, chairs, and other furnishings that were removed during the renovation of the DeGolyer Mansion.

So, hey, mansion stuff.
