Revisiting Little Mexico

By Bruce Felps

Dallas’ history contains rich stories of immigrants and the neighborhoods they built as they settled into specific areas.

Dallas native Sol Villasana chronicles and rise and demise — such that it did — of Little Mexico, practically on the edge of East Dallas, in his book “Dallas’s Little Mexico,” published in conjunction with  Preservation Dallas.

The historical group fetes Villasana with an author’s reception from 6-8 p.m., Aug. 10, at the Wilson House along Swiss Ave.

The event is free and open to the public.
