The first segment of outdoor concerts at the Dallas Arboretum comes to a close after this week’s shows, taking an August hiatus before cranking up again in September.

Tomorrow’s show, July 25, features Satisfaction, a Rolling Stones tribute band.

The band, of course, hits the highlights of the Stones’ recording career — “Brown Sugar,” “Start Me Up,” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Wonder if they’ll do “2,000 Light Years from Home.”

Anyway, the pre-concert activities include a Rolling Stone lookalike and costume contest.

Thursday’s show, July 28, pumps up the dance volume with the M80s as they lay down tracks such as “Shout” by Tears for Fears, “Whip It” by Devo, and “Material Girl by Madonna.

As with all shows in the Concerts in the Garden series, gates open at 6 p.m. and shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Picnic dinners and coolers are welcome at the shows, and the Arboretum provides ample concessions for people who don’t want to take in their own.

Individual adult tickets cost $9 for Arboretum members and $16 for non-members. Check the website for particulars.
