Suspicious activity spotted in Lakewood Hills

By Bruce Felps

The crime watch chairwoman of the Lakewood Hills Neighborhood Association sent out an e-mail message today alerting area residents to suspicious activity involving a couple of vehicles driving through neighborhood alleys and streets.

According to the missive, a gold 1990s-era Ford F150 pickup with a temporary paper tag was seen yesterday in the alleys of the 7000 block of Coronado and Casa Loma avenues. One of four men in the truck, driven by a female, was said to have entered backyards. The e-mail message included no indication of theft.

The message also contained information about a small gold four-door sedan with a missing passenger-side hubcap. The vehicle reportedly was used in an April attempted home burglary and a more-recent theft of lawn equipment from a yard work crew.

Anyone spotting either vehicle should call 911.
