Parading Funky Style

By Bruce Felps

Plans for the Little Forest Hills Independence Day parade are in place and ready for neighborhood association co-presidents Max and Denise Davis to hit the ”go” button.

They push the button at 9 a.m., July 4, at the parade starting point, Old Gate Lane at Diceman Drive. The procession takes a rectangular route through the neighborhood before coming to a stop at Casa Linda Park.

Parade participants should arrive by 8:30 a.m. at the starting point to get a place in processional line.

Don’t throw candy, shoot water guns, or let fly with Silly String along the parade route, please.

The after-party at the park will be a decidedly pet-friendly affair. It features watermelon, apple pie, naturally, cold drinks, and the awards ceremony.
