Woodrow, LH Make ‘Best’ List

By Bruce Felps

The “Best High Schools in America” list — once published by Newsweek and now in the hands of The Washington Post because of corporate-ownership dealings, reportedly — just came out ranking 1,900 schools in the United States.

Two Dallas high schools, the Science and Engineering Magnet and the Talented and Gifted Magnet at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center, came in at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

Woodrow ranks No. 588, down from last year’s 422 but still up from 637 in 2009, and Lake Highlands High placed 1,376.
