Community Contribution

Last Friday, the members of the student council from J.L. Long Middle School spent part of their morning performing community service work in East Dallas by picking up trash in the neighborhood around the school and at nearby Lindsley Park.

With the school year quickly coming to a close, this was the last project the student council undertook for the year.

The members were busy this 2010-11 school year as they organized school food drives, Christmas toy drivers for Scottish Rite Hospital, and managed several other school events.

The student council school sponsors are Carrie Stone and Alex Howard, and the council members want to give them a big “thank you very much” for all their extra time they spent working with the members.

Thanks to Randy Patterson, parent of a J.L. Long student, for providing the words and picture.
