The Dallas Running Club, as part of the White Rock Lake Centennial Celebration, fires the starter’s pistol tomorrow morning on the White Rock Lake Centennial Half Marathon.

About 2,200 participants are expected to hit the ground running when the race departs from Winfrey Point at 8 a.m., May 7.

Opening ceremonies and such take place at 7:30 a.m., and closing ceremonies and awards wrap up about 10:30, while the band plays on.

Registration, which can be completed online, costs $60 for DRC members and $70 for non-members. You have ‘til midnight.

Money raised from the event goes to improvements at White Rock and the running club.
