The annual White Rock Lake Festival, put on by the White Rock Lake Foundation, pops up on the calendar in about a week.

The two-day festival happens April 30-May 1, at Boy Scout Hill, Mockingbird Lane at about East Lawther Drive.

The event runs 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, and includes canoe rides, music, shopping, pet adoptions, pony rides, food and drink, and all sorts of other festival fun, including the obligatory bounce house.

This year’s festival promises to be the biggest in its history because it’s part of the White Rock Lake Centennial Celebration.

And guess what. Organizers need volunteers, primarily for shifts running 9 a.m.-1 p.m., 1-5 p.m., and 5-9 p.m., both days.

Pitch in, help out, have fun, and rock the Rock.

  1. There’s simply not a better venue for spending those volunteer hours you KNOW you have in you! The sights, food, music, and bubbly libations can’t be beat. I highly recommend this gig – just click on the Foundation’s link above and sign up!
