Reward offered in mutilated cat case

By Bruce Felps

Word has spread the past couple of days about a mutilated cat, found sliced in two, in Wilshire Heights.

Someone found a neighbor’s cat March 29 in the 6200 block of Revere Place, called the neighbor who was out of town, and at the neighbor’s request took the remains to a veterinarian. The vet said the slice was not caused by an animal, rather a sharp tool.

A $5,000 reward is now offered for information leading to the arrest of the person who mutilated the cat.

The person who committed the crime might be one sick puppy.

“There is a well-documented link between animal cruelty and human violence,” said SPCA of Texas President James Bias, quoted in a Dallas Morning News article. “Helping the Dallas Police Dept. bring these individuals to justice will help stop the cycle of abuse.”
