Town Hall Meetings to Cover City Hall Changes

By Bruce Felps

Redrawing Dallas’ City Hall districts will happen. The 2010 U.S. Census and Dallas city charter say so.

Help shape those changes by attending a public hearing called by the Dallas Redistricting Commission, at which officials will listen to input from the citizenry.

The city plans a series of meetings pertinent to each of the 14 City Council districts, and residents can attend any or all as they see fit.

The meetings associated with East Dallas take place:

Districts 9 and 10 — 7-9 p.m., May 3, at Dallas First Assembly of God Church, and

District 2 and 14 — 7-9 p.m., May 5, at Resource Center Dallas.

Check out the commission’s calendar for a complete rundown of hearings.
