Congressional Art Competition Opens

High school student-artists have an opportunity to see their works displayed this summer in the U.S. Capitol building.

U.S. Congressman Jeb Hensarling yesterday opened the 5th District Congressional Art Competition: An Artistic Discovery. Students within the district — Lakewood, portions of Lake Highlands, Old Lake Highlands, Peninsula, Forest Hills, Little Forest Hills, Casa Linda Estates — are invited to submit contest entries for the chance to exhibit their work the halls of federal government.

Winners and two guests will be invited to attend a special ribbon-cutting ceremony unveiling the artwork in Washington, D.C.
