Longtime neighborhood favorite Rose-Mary Rumbley next week makes a return engagement at the Lakewood Library Branch.

The local author, historian, and speaker offers her thoughts on and a review of “Brooklyn: A Novel,” by Colm Toibin, and its eponymous borough starting at 1:30 p.m., March 23, at the branch location.

The book’s release coincides with Brooklyn’s 400th anniversary. Hmm, talk about one-upmanship

The event — sponsored by the Friends of the Lakewood Library — is free and open to the public. Find out what life is like, and what it once was like, among a different community.

  1. Lovely lady with whom I went to high school many moons ago. However, she didn’t associate with me (I was considered “fast” but I never drove over the speed limit!). We have laughed about this many times. She even featured me in her book “Strolling Through the Park”. I appreciated the plug.
Her talks are always fun and fascinating.
