Toasting Grassroots Efforts

By Bruce Felps

Members of the Woodrow community want to rally the community at large in making known their displeasure with pending budget cuts that promise to reduce Dallas ISD teacher ranks, including those at local schools.

Representatives of the Woodrow PTA and Woodrow Community Council plan an event called Sip, Sign, and Save Dallas Schools to generate protest letters to members of the Texas Legislature, which wields power over the state budget.

The event takes place from 6-10 p.m., March 10, at Times Ten Cellars.

Participants receive a half-price glass of wine for writing three letters to Legislature members.

Contact PTA President Jill Cochran for more details.

Nothing gets a good mad on like a few glasses of wine.
