Talking school budget cuts

By Bruce Felps

Texas Tribune, by way of Unfair Park, recently brought us a videoed interview with three freshman state representatives, one of whom occupies the Texas House District 102 seat.

Stefani Carter represents a goodly portion of Lake Highlands at the state lege, and she and the other two — Cindy Burkett and Rodney Anderson — answered questions about the state’s looming budget shortfall, what it means to local school districts and schools, and what might be done to spare the schools a massive teacher-ectomy in layoffs.

Carter answered at least one question with a pair of questions.

“Why aren’t we talking about superintendents? Why aren’t we talking about administrators?” she asked.

Watch, listen, draw your conclusions.
