Lakewood area might lose ambulance

By Bruce Felps

A concerned reader who relocated to Lake Highlands from her former home in Lakewood sent an e-mail message just a bit ago because the on-again-off-again rumbling about Fire Station 17Skillman Street and Belmont Avenue — losing its ambulance has resurfaced.

According to segments of her message, “Apparently, the city will make this effective February 28th,” and, “My source is very reliable and is actually involved in this deletion to the area.”

I know the e-mailer, and trust her as a source but I’ve also left messages with the Dallas Fire-Rescue public information office, District 14 Councilwoman Angela Hunt, and District 9 Councilman Sheffie Kadane in an attempt to get confirmation one way or the other.

More to come.
