Real School Gardens and organizers with Hexter Elementary School team up to present a discussion on heath challenges facing school children.

Dr. Eduardo J. Sanchez, vice president and chief medical officer for BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, will talk about positive steps available to parents and educators to raise healthier, happier, and smarter children — and how school learning gardens play a role — during the community-strengthening event, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Feb. 17, at the Old Lake Highlands School.

The evening — free to the community — includes a performance by Hexter students, food from Chipotle, and a tour of Hexter’s learning garden.
