Nowlin in

By Bruce Felps

Penny Anderly, publicist for James Nowlin, confirmed that the Lakewood Heights resident will indeed run for the City Council District 14 seat even though Angela Hunt earlier today said she’d seek re-election in the district and pass on a run for mayor.

Nowlin served as Hunt’s appointee to the Citizens Police Review Board. He also was director of Workforce Solutions of Greater Dallas and AIDS Services of Dallas. He is a member of Preservation Dallas, Lakewood Heights Neighborhood Association, League of United Latin-American Citizens, DFW Minority Supplier Development Council, and has been active with Meals on Wheels.

The official filing window to run for city office opens Feb. 14. Now we know Jim Rogers will stay out of the race and Nowlin will challenge Hunt.

That leaves Chad Lasseter of Hollywood Heights to reveal his intentions.
